Localizability of Quantum Mechanical Systems on Curved Spacetime — •Romualdo de Oliveira — Universität Erlangen

In this work, we extend Newton and Winger's idea of localization of states of quantum mechanical systems to globally-hyperbolic spacetimes. We will show how Mackey's theory of systems of imprimitivity is the natural mathematical tool to attack this problem. As a by product, we obtain a general procedure to derive position operators acting on the one-particle Hilbert space, which are unique only in highly symmetric spacetimes.
