Development of a novel type of solid polymer electrolyte for solid-state lithium battery applications based on lithiumenriched PEO/PVP blend polymer — •Mayank Garg1, Yuxin Liang1, and Peter Müller-Buschbaum1,21TUM School of Natural Sciences, Chair of Functional Materials, 85748 Garching, Germany — 2MLZ, TUM, 85748 Garching, Germany

The growing demand for thin, flexible energy storage devices for applications like flexible electronics and wearable technologies has intensified interest in Solid Polymer Electrolyte (SPE) films. These polymerbased batteries offer a promising alternative due to their thin, flexible nature and seamless integration into devices, coupled with costeffectiveness. This study focuses on enhancing the conductivity of SPE films comprising a blend of biodegradable poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) as the host matrix, with varied lithium bis(trifluoromethane sulfonyl)imide (LiTFSI) dopant salt concentrations. Structural and optical characterization techniques, including Xray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), UV-Vis spectroscopy, and electrochemical analysis, were employed. Optimized lithium salt concentrations enabled functional device operation at ambient temperatures (20-60°C), with Impedance Spectroscopy revealing enhanced ionic conductivity. Furthermore, the incorporation of small metal additives further improved the ionic conductivity of the battery cell.
