Lead halide perovskites have been attracting much attention from the scientific community in the recent years, due to their attractive properties and their proven potential in many applications. Nevertheless, their stability has remained a problem in addition to the lead toxicity problems. Herein, we are investigating the potential of divalent dopant to offer better stability and replace a portion of the toxic lead ions. Moreover, we are using room temperature synthesis to obtain tunable emission and band gap tunability at room temperature through codoping of cesium lead bromide. we characterize the obtained particles optically via Ultraviolet–Visible spectroscopy. we also used Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES) as a tool to quantify the exact compositional change introduced to the host perovskite lattice. Also, Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) Spectroscopy was used as a tool to understand the extent of the compositional changes that occurred to the lattice as a result of introducing the dopant to the host lattice. Finally, the doped particles have showed enhanced thermal and optical stability when compared to the undoped host material. The successful incorporation of the synthesized particles into transparent or semi-transparent films could be used to enhance the performance of the currently available solar cells in the market.
