The study of high-harmonic generation (HHG) in solids by virtue of intense laser pulses provides a fascinating platform to study ultra- fast electron dynamics as well as material properties. We theoretically investigate HHG on the basis of massive Dirac Fermions, serving as a prototypical model for topologically non-trivial matter and other sys- tems with pseudo-relativistic dispersion[1]. The harmonic emission is calculated using the well-established framework of the Semiconductor- Bloch equations. We found a potentially generic phenomenon of Dirac-like systems, which is a strong interference between inter- and intraband contributions. This interference qualitatively changes the observed spectrum and we investigate its dependence on dimensionless parameters[2] governing the transition dynamics of the system.
