Magnetic skyrmions are vortex-like topologically protected spin textures that typically occur in chiral magnets with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interactions.
A prominent skyrmion host material is Cu2OSeO3. This crystal exhibits a skyrmion lattice phase near the Curie temperature [1] and a second skyrmion phase at low temperatures [2].
In addition, it has recently been shown that a heterostructure of this chiral magnet with a ferromagnet exhibits hybrid modes in its ferromagnetic resonance spectra [3].
We study magnetization dynamics in a Cu2OSeO3 crystal placed in a custom-designed loop-gap microwave cavity and compare the coupling of cavity photons to magnons in Cu2OSeO3 to the corresponding coupling between magnons in a Y3Fe5O12 sphere and the same cavity.
