Magnetocalorics for spin systems with dipolar interaction — •Dennis Westerbeck and Jürgen Schnack — Bielefeld University
For the development of new coolants for the low temperature cooling, it is necessary to take a look at the influence of the inevitable dipolar interaction on the cooling efficiency. We investigated small spin systems with common shapes like rings, tetrahedrons and butterflys, to search for areas, where the dipolar interaction has the most favourable effect on important thermodynamic variables
