Converse Unruh effect, wedge-modular inclusions and thermal states — •Ian Koot — Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany
The Unruh effect describes the fact that ground states for one time evolution might be viewed as thermal states for a different time evolution through the application of modular theory. We present examples of the converse, where we can use modular theory to construct time evolutions such that thermal states may be viewed as ground states. We discuss a generalization of a chiral example given by Borchers and Yngvasson and the strong evidence that exists for a very broad further generalization.
