Dynamics of ferroelectric domain walls associated to domain wall switching are known to depend on bulk structure, being very sensitive to defects, chemical and structural pinning sites, and they are also showing a sub-coercive field dynamics as a reversible motion, with vibrational states that can strongly couple to local structure and composition of the domain wall. In this presentation, I will overview the effect of the environmental conditions on the domain wall dynamics and how they modify the electronic boundary conditions associated with screening dynamics. Specifically, I will show how the structure of surface adsorbed water molecules dominate the domain wall dynamics by substantially changing the electrostatic boundary conditions at the solid-liquid interface when the water molecules are physiosorbed, form an ice-like structure or configure water-like layers. I will discuss on how to visualize domain walls displacement and their velocities using different approaches, such as a tip dynamic writing vs tip applied electric pulses and also as a function of the measuring electric field, as well as the characteristics of free, shear or creep dynamics and when are they dominant.
