ErB2 is a hexagonal easy plane ferromagnet exhibiting a large field-dependent anomalous Hall effect for magnetic fields along the hard axis. The magnetic excitation spectrum has features reminiscent of strong single-ion anisotropy and magnon-phonon coupling. We present density functional theory calculations of the magnetic anisotropy energies in and out of the hexagonal plane and calculate the Heisenberg exchange coupling constants via the spin spiral method. Further, we report the Berry curvature contribution of the electronic structure to the anomalous Hall effect when rotating the magnetization from the easy-plane to the hard axis.
