Minimal Model of the Magnetic Weyl Semimetal EuCd2As2 — •Hannah Price and Carsten Timm — Institute of Theoretical Physics, Technische Universität Dresden, 01062 Dresden, Germany

Weyl semimetals provide an interesting new landscape to study frustrated magnetism due to the mixed charge and spin response. We investigate the interaction and magnetic order of rare-earth magnetic moments mediated by RKKY interactions. In particular, we will examine the proposed Weyl semimetal EuCd2As2. Using symmetry arguments we determine a minimal tight-binding model of the electronic and magnetic properties of the material. Additionally, we study the magnetic ordering of the rare-earth magnetic moments using classical Monte Carlo simulations.
