Thermodynamic properties of the triangular lattice XXZ model — •Alexander Schwenke and Wolfram Brenig — Institute for Theoretical Physics, Technical University Braunschweig, D-38106 Braunschweig, Germany

Motivated by its rich ground-state phase diagram, we investigate the triangular lattice XXZ model as a prime example to benchmark the numerical linked cluster expansion (NLCE) as a method for the study of geometrically frustrated quantum magnets. We employ a single-site representation in order to evaluate thermodynamic properties in a finite magnetic field B. To this end we present results for the internal energy, the specific heat, the magnetization, and the magnetic susceptibility for clusters of sizes up to ∼O(11) sites. Supplementing these calculations with exact diagonalization results, we discuss various cuts in the JB plane.
