King Plots: Constraining New Physics using Isotope Shift Spectroscopy — •Agnese Mariotti1, Fiona Kirk2, Jan Richter2, Matteo Robbiati3,4,5, Julian Berengut6, and Elina Fuchs1,2,31LUH-ITP — 2PTB — 3CERN — 4TIF Lab — 5TII — 6UNSW

With 95% of the Universe's content still unexplained by modern physics, the motivations for new physics searches are becoming increasingly evident. The approach used in our work exploits the high precision of low-energy experiments to identify deviations from the theoretical predictions of the Standard Model. Specifically, we use King plots on isotope shift measurements to constrain a new interaction that couples electrons and neutrons. This tool is particularly powerful, as it requires minimal theoretical input and allows to set strong bounds on the new coupling strength. We present two ways of utilizing the available data: a geometrical approach and a fitting method.
