Muon Veto of LEGEND-200 — •Gina Grünauer for the LEGEND collaboration — Physikalisches Institut, Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen
The Large Enriched Germanium Experiment for Neutrinoless β β Decay (LEGEND) is an experimental program searching for the neutrinoless double beta (0ν β β) decay of 76Ge. To look for such rare events and reach the aimed half-life sensitivity of more than 1028 years, every opportunity to reduce the background has to be taken. A Water-Cherenkov-Veto is used for this purpose for the current experimental phase LEGEND-200. It uses photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) as detectors in a water-tank faced with a reflective foil to increase the light yield inside the Veto. This contribution presents the working principle and data analysis of the Muon Veto of LEGEND-200.
