In contrast to the semileptonic decay of the long-lived neutral kaon, the decay K_S → π^±ł^∓ν_l has never been observed. The CPT theorem predicts a branching fraction of Br(K_S → π^±ł^∓ν_l) ≈ 6.7 × 10⁻⁴. During a 40-hour high intensity K_S run end of 1999 about 10¹⁰ K_S decays were produced. Using this data sample, a first measurement of the semileptonic decay width of the K_S meson is possible.
