Measurement of the semileptonic decay width of the KS meson — •Cristina Morales — Institut für Physik, ETAP, Universität Mainz, 55099 Mainz
In contrast to the semileptonic decay of the long-lived neutral kaon, the decay KS → π±ł∓νl has never been observed. The CPT theorem predicts a branching fraction of Br(KS → π±ł∓νl) ≈ 6.7 × 10−4. During a 40-hour high intensity KS run end of 1999 about 1010 KS decays were produced. Using this data sample, a first measurement of the semileptonic decay width of the KS meson is possible.
